Our Sponsored Residential program offers compassionate care in a home-based setting by thoughtfully matching adults with disabilities to sponsored residential homes. These homes provide an environment where individuals can become active family members, engage in community activities, and experience normalcy in everyday life.

AccessStar also has a nursing team with the expertise to meet the comprehensive medical needs of individuals served in our residential, sponsored residential providers and day support programs. Our nurses provide medical assessments, consult with social work staff and providers regarding medical orders and medication needs, and offer oversight for those with complex medical needs as outlined by DBHDS regulations.
Community Partnership
AccessStar Sponsored Residential Services partners with community members across the Commonwealth of Virginia who open their homes to adults with developmental disabilities. Sponsored Residential Providers, also known as Host Home Providers, offer a safe and comfortable home environment. Individuals who choose our supports are welcomed into a caring home with trained professionals to support them on their life’s journey. They may also choose a family member or someone they know to become a Sponsor, ensuring personalized attention and care while integrating into the community.
Support for Sponsors
Our program is renowned for the extensive support provided to our Sponsors. We employ teams of professionals to monitor all services delivered in these homes, prioritizing quality of care and safety. Our qualified oversight staff regularly visit the individuals served and the Sponsors at home and in their preferred settings to ensure services are delivered professionally. Continuous communication with our Sponsors is very important to us as we strive to meet their needs, ensuring the individual in care is comfortable and properly supported.
